  • Can a mobile detector detect a mobile even if it is switched of?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under mobile | 1 Comment »

I just need to know. Because my school already started using mobile detectors to warn people not to bring mobile phones to school. They say it can detect phones even if they are switched off. But if this is true, then what makes it detect it. I asked a friend and he reckons it’s because of the sim card.

i doubt it can detect your mobile phone when it is off those are just some fruit cakes trying to scare you so you don’t bring your phone to school.

Do you need home phone service to get dial up internet?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under home phone service | 2 Comments »

My husband and I are needing internet in our home. We both use our cell phones and do not have a land line. I am just wondering if we would need to set up a land line if we were interested in getting dial up?

Dial up, yes. It runs on the phone line.

Go for cable broadband- In my area, it was about $5 less to get cable internet service than it was for a phone line and dial up, AND, it’s tons faster. You wouldn’t want dial up. It’s far too slow these days with so many web pages using more & more graphics & stuff that takes way longer to load than you’d want to wait around for on dial up.

What is the difference between Mobile broadband and Wi-fi?

What is the difference between Mobile broadband and Wi-fi?

I understand that Wi-fi is accessed free from certain locations, coffee shops, shopping centers etc. So what is the advantage of mobile broadband?

Wifi refers to an Internet connection over a short distance radio signal put out by a wireless router or access point. This is what you normally find in your home. Other then the cost of having the Cable or DSL Internet brought to your house, you do not pay anything more for it. You produce the signal with your own router. It has a range of about 150 feet. This is used in coffee shops and malls because of its short range. It forces you to come into the shop to use it (and maybe you will buy something).

Mobile Broadband runs on the cell phone network. Anywhere your cell phone works, so will your Internet. And just like you can get into your car and drive across the country and your cell phone will continue to work by switching from tower to tower, so will your computer. You can use it almost anywhere.

However, the bandwidth needed for a computer is many times more than for a cell phone. And so the cell companies charge you a price that matches that usage. People who are unaware have accidentally run up bills in the thousands of dollars in a single month using their mobile connection to run the computer for more than a few minutes.

Check with your cell phone proivide and they can give you information on Mobile Broadband. But at this time the technology is still beyond most user’s price range.

Mobile Broadband is also used for the limited Internet connection you can get on most cell phones. But that is not a connection with the speed or power needed to run a full computer.

Is it possible to just order AT&T home phone service?

Posted by admin on December 27th, 2009 and filed under home phone service | 3 Comments »

I’ve been using Comcast for both internet and phone, but lately the cell phone is the primary calling device. And now I want a cheaper home phone service. So I called up AT&T and asked them about it and they said I must get a bundle called UVerse with internet, phone, and TV cable, but I don’t need any of that except for the home phone. Can they do something like this?

And does anyone have any suggestions for cheap home phone services.

sure you can just get POTS (plain old telephone service) with ATT…

perhaps the person that you spoke with got confused if you explained to them that you currently have all of your services thru the cable company…

when you call them back, forget about explaining all of the services that you currently have… just request that all you want is a standard land line telephone… i guess that they are trying to promote or push the Uverse service (which is fiber to the home, similar to verizon FiOS)

In Metal Gear Solid (PS version only) what happens if you dont collect the rope for COMMS tower?

I know on the Gamecube version you do the hang and drop feature but this wasnt on the PS1 version.

The story won’t progress until you get the rope. you would have to go back down to get it and go all the way back up to the roof

    Hi Knowitall

However if you have the time sell it on eBay.

What Navy Rates qualify for the FMF Pin?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under comms | 2 Comments »

Im a Navy IT. Someone in my command left to go do Mobile Comms for the Navy SEALs. I heard that there is a Mobile Comms for the Marines. Can anyone verify that?

Any ratings that are assigned to a Marine unit can run a chit to start the qualification on it…
that’s the hard part. Getting assigned to a marine unit.
My friend, who’s a PS, was assigned to a marine unit and it was mandatory that she got her FMF pin while assigned there…kind of like how surface warfare/air warfare is mandatory for E-5’s and above assigned to ships.

What do you think about the mobile car wash franchise?

Posted by admin on December 16th, 2009 and filed under mobile | 1 Comment »

    Hello everyone

I saw on the internet that the mobile car wash franchise is a new concept worldwide and it means washing the car on the spot where it is parked. I also red that the mobile car wash franchise is an ecological mobile car wash service and a green franchise.

Can I wash my car and also have an constant income?

    What do you think?

It’s not a new concept. Mobile car washing is a proven system for locating, designing, equipping, and operating a flex-serve car wash for the highest levels of customer comfort, quality, volume and profit.
