Posted by admin on February 20th, 2011 and filed under telecommunication | 2 Comments »

Hi i am much interested in doing a job in telecom industry, but i heard most of these companies don’t hire freshers.is it true?

For all those who are keen to make a career in telecommunication need to understand the fact that the wireless and telecom jobs for fresher in industry is complex and driven by technically sound people and thus the majority jobs available are in the engineering field including network engineers, architects etc.
One of my friend told me about this site. Look at this http://www.vasjobs.com/ , may be useful to all of you.

My Comcast cable bill is over $100. True, I’ve signed up for lots of bells and whistles, but still.

Anyone have Clear wire internet service.I have the service for my home P/C and home phone service?

Posted by admin on February 16th, 2011 and filed under home phone service | 1 Comment »

I have clear wire internet service for my P/C and home phone service, I just purchased a new All-in-one
HP fax printer scanner & copy machine, I’m unable to fax anyone have this internet service and have a H/P issue

VoIP does not work well with data or fax transmissions… and I would assume that having VoIP over a wireless connection would be even more difficult since it would likely increase the latency of the connection compared to a wired connection….

you need a LAND LINE phone to use a fax machine… any other type of phone service will not work, or will work intermittently at best for fax machines and other dial up data services (like an alarm system)

your best option would probably be to get an efax service for your faxes…

Whats the tiny black box called which Rogers installed for our home phone service?

Posted by admin on February 14th, 2011 and filed under home phone service | 2 Comments »

A couple of years ago we changed from Bell to Rogers. When Rogers came, they installed the phone service which also included this tiny black box. What is the box for? and also is it needed for Rogers internet? We changed our phone service back to Bell but not our internet (which is still using Rogers.) do I need to bring the box back to the Rogers company?

The box installed by Rogers for home phone service is known as an EMTA, or a phone terminal. It’s used to convert the digital signal carrying the phone line over the Rogers cable lines into regular analog telephone signals that can be distributed throughout the house on your existing telephone jacks. Yes, you will need to return the terminal to a Rogers Plus location, otherwise you will be charged $99 (plus taxes) in unreturned equipment charges.
The phone terminal is not required for cable Internet, as you should also have a separate cable modem for this purpose.

Can I put a Communications Headset in a Jeep Wrangler?

Posted by admin on February 12th, 2011 and filed under comms | 2 Comments »

Is there any way I can install an aircraft-type communications system in my ‘97 Wrangler? I already have a CB Radio in, if that helps. Basically I want to be able to communicate to passengers when I’m at high speeds. I don’t need it to broadcast to my phone or the radio I just want comms with passengers, having music in them would be great.

You may want to look into motorcycle headsets. "Chatterbox" is somewhat expensive, but it gives rider-to-passenger communications capability, which may be what you’re looking for.

WIth regards to phone hacking in the news: Why don’t the police investigate workers at the telecoms companies?

Posted by admin on February 4th, 2011 and filed under telecoms | 4 Comments »

Do the police detectives not realise that they should be really trying to find out who the people are responsible from within the mobile phone networks responsible for handing over recordings and information.

Anyone knows journalists have no technical skills - and so they either contact insiders within the telecom companies - or are approached by them. Obviously money is exchanged in return for the recordings/data.

Or is it that certain unscrupulous individuals from within police departments who have access to telecommunication networks are the culprits for leaking data to journalists?

It has been reported that the UK police and security services have the following additional capabilities on mobile telephones, provided by telephone operators, but not covered by the voluntary code.

    1. The capability to record to the content of selected conversations.
    2. The capability to determine the location[6] of a mobile telephone to within a few yards by using triangulation and multiple base stations.
    3. The capability to remotely activate the microphones of some mobile telephones. The UK Financial Times of the 2nd August 2005 [page 4 of the UK edition] reported that the UK police can ask mobile phone operators to download special spying software to a mobile telephone without the user’s knowledge or permission. When this has been done the authorities can turn on the microphone of a mobile telephone and listen to any conversations in its vicinity. This capability only exists for mobile telephones which can accept downloaded software. The telephone must be turned on for the microphone to be activated, but the user does not have to be making a call.

Reporters use their mobile phones a lot & that includes retrieving their Voice Mails by dialing in and entering a simple 4 digit code number … I would agree that they are too dumb to work out how to change their own ‘default’ PIN code = but then so are MP’s, and I bet you can ‘hack’ most voice mail by typing in 1234 ..

Two years of local phone service costs $883, including the installation fee of $55. What is the monthly fee?

Subtract the installation fee and then divide the rest by 24.
