  • What Navy Rates qualify for the FMF Pin?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under comms |

Im a Navy IT. Someone in my command left to go do Mobile Comms for the Navy SEALs. I heard that there is a Mobile Comms for the Marines. Can anyone verify that?

Any ratings that are assigned to a Marine unit can run a chit to start the qualification on it…
that’s the hard part. Getting assigned to a marine unit.
My friend, who’s a PS, was assigned to a marine unit and it was mandatory that she got her FMF pin while assigned there…kind of like how surface warfare/air warfare is mandatory for E-5’s and above assigned to ships.

It is not a case of rate but a case of assignment. You must be assigned to a fleet Marine unit. The most common rate is HM. I am not sure that I have ever seen it on any other rate, but I guess it is theoretically possible.
