I was deciding to buy an international calling card; I just don’t know if I’ll be able to use it with my home phone because my phoneline service does not support long distance calling. Does the international calling card I buy ignore the fact that I cannot make long distance calls? Thank you for your help.

I always use a calling card to call my family overseas!!!
its much cheaper then any old phone provider…..and there are so many real good calling cards on the market….

you definately need to get a phone card that has a 1-800 # on the back that you call and then you put in the card #. Some cards have an access # thats going to be long distance, so u wont be able to use it!!!

Yes you can; on the phone card you have a local access number or a toll free; in fact you dial that number and everything is done after you get connected to the local # or the toll free.

Yes, you can use the phone card to make international call even though your land phone not supporting long distance calls.
It is cheaper actually. That’s what I have been doing for years.
Normally, the international phone card should have a list of local # or 800 for you to call. Then, it will ask you to enter the code of the phone card, then it will ask you the international phone #.

I don’t have long distance service on my land line or cell phone, but I use prepaid international phone cards all the time. The land line also accepts 10-10-297…..just use that as a prefix, then 1, then your ten digit number. They bill your phone company and it is added onto your regular phone bill. Works for me.

Yes. Definitely, you can use calling cards via local call service. Because calling cards provide you local access number or toll-free number to connect to their service.
My home phone service doesn’t support long distance calling either. I always use calling cards to make long distance calls.
I use http://www.eecalling.com to compare and buy calling cards online. I can buy it anytime anywhere only if I can access Internet.

Yes, you can. To place long distance calls with phone card, all you need is a touch-tone telephone. First, dial the toll free access number provided, and then wait for a prompt to input your PIN number. You will then hear another message stating the value that remains on that specific PIN.
