  • Are electronic communication and telecommunication the same thing?

Posted by admin on November 27th, 2009 and filed under telecommunication |

    If not, what’s the difference?

I can use semaphore flags to communicate between naval ships without use of electronics, but it is still telecommunications, or communication-over-distance.

Some (American) Indians used smoke signals to communicate over distance. That’s another example of telecommunications without electronics.

Flashing lights, or mirrors reflecting the sun can also be used to communicate over distance without use of electronics.
